Under power the Lightwave's very long waterline and easily driven hull shape allow for good cruising speed with minimum horsepower, noise and fuel.

Performance apart, the Lightwave 48 has some very nice cruising features including an exceptionally large cockpit and a very spacious galley. There is an aft companionway giving private deck access from the master cabin. There is also an alternative 'North Sea' layout with a centreline double berth aft and three separate sleeping cabins.
