Oyster HP46

Designed by Holman and Pye the HP46 was the first Oyster Deck Saloon yacht, beginning a trend that would revolutionize cruising yacht design. The large saloon windows allowed light to flood into the accommodation, transforming the traditional gloomy saloon into a light, bright and inviting place to be. A big, safe, seaworthy cruising yacht with a high volume hull and generous accommodation plan, twenty-four HP46s were launched between 1981 and 1988. She is a proven circumnavigator, and like most Oysters the HP46 is a hand built, semi custom design, so there are many variations in sail plan, deck layout, accommodation plan and specification, most HP46s, for example were launched as ketches, with a few later ones as sloops.
